After a long winter and a somewhat drawn out spring , Croyde Surf Clubs season is kicking off in style , The Al Rannochan Memorial will be held on May 9th , our season opener (usually a little earlier) has a tendency to drag Croyde's finest out of the woodwork and (swell permitting) into a few kegs for your entertainment ! And failing that there's an after contest party at The Blue Groove for another Keg , and of course a bottle of JD for the winner !
The Monday after the Al Ran is start up time for the Grom Club . Martin Purchase and his merry men (and ladies) will be at Downend Carpark 6pm ready to nurture Croyde's Surfing future through its paces , details and updates will be posted on www.croydesurfclub.com Please check out the website regularly, for contest , socials , and updates . Croyde Surf Club (your surf
club) is not only one of the oldest surf clubs in the UK , but with out doubt the most successful ! We have an enviable history , and with your participation formidable future !
On a sad note , last month the funeral was held for Duncan Sinclair . Duncan lived and worked in the village for many years and in several guises , from Carpenter , project manager , surf shop manager . Passionate about Surfing , Sailing and Rugby . More importantly , a father , son , brother and friend to many . A larger than life member of our community , he made sure we " always look on the bright side of life " Bon voyage Duncan !
