CSC in the Community
Croyde Surf Club is a non-for-profit organisation that sits in the heart of the local community. It solely relies on the support of volunteers and local organisations to help it run successfully.
Environment: SAS Beach Cleans
Annually CSC works closely with the environmental pressure group, Surfers Against Sewage (SAS). CSC actively supports and promotes the SAS beach cleans which aims to protect the coastline from marine litter including beach cleans and education events. As part of our events we actively encourage our members to environmentally aware and aim to educate them about the importance of protecting our beaches so everyone can enjoy safely and sustainably.
Education: SGB Junior Surfer Scheme
As part of the Monday Night Grom sessions, CSC actively teaches our junior members about developing their surfing skills and being safe in the sea.
The Grom club is voluntarily run by committee members and parents throughout the year. In the warmer months, the beach is our classroom whereby we encourage a healthy lifestyle and actively take part in a coaching development program. When winter arrives, the fun doesn't stop, but time spent in the sea is limited and activities take place on a weekend. Classroom based learning about environmental issues and water safety takes place and conditions permitting, we chase the swells and put practice into action.
